Maestro Alberto Torres Davila

Maestro

Master Shaman and medicinal plants expert, Don Alberto was introduced into shamanism at an age of 8 year by his grandfather. After his grandfather passed away, Alberto was taken under the wing of Don Julio Llerena Pinedo, and the two entered into a lifetime pact of Shamanic Medicine. Don Alberto has led over 3000 ceremonies and is considered one of the most powerful healers in the Ucayali River region. Don Alberto is also a well-known shaman outside of his community, as he has been conducting ceremonies at Blue Morpho Shamanic Center for many years and is the teacher of Hamilton Souther (the founder of Blue Morpho). Don Alberto believes that plant medicine belongs to the world and that we are all equal in the presence of the medicine. He has been openly working with westerners, thereby sending the Light of Medicine all around the world.

Maria Andreeva

Maria

Maria has been passionate about exploring consciousness and healing modalities since her early teens and has been eagerly searching for a way to use her gifts in the service of others. Maria studied ancient cultures, religions and psychology in university. In 2006 she received her Yoga Teacher certificate from Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center. Maria has been organizing annual nature retreats called "Open Air Anahata" which blend music, yoga and meditation within the serenity of nature. In 2008 Maria met Maestro Alberto at Blue Morpho Shamanic Center. It was there that she felt a strong calling to dedicate herself to studying Amazonian Shamanism and shortly after Maria entered the apprenticeship with Maestro Alberto. Maria continues to learn the secrets of Amazonian Medicine and has been generously sharing this Medicine with her guests.

The house of El Corazon

We are located in the village Jenaro-Herrera, a small village that overlooks the banks of river Ucayali, across one of the largest nature preserves of Peru, Pacaya Samira. Jenaro-Herrera is famous for it's buffalo cheese (Queso Fresco) and the people of the village are friendly and welcoming. El Corazon offers an expereince of integration into the real village life, where you will have an opportunity to explore a simple lifestyle at the edge of the jungle. The center is located by the side of an open field, where local men play soccer on sunny afternoons. Across the field is the jungle and ten minutes away from the house is the pure jungle stream, one dip in which will make you forget all your troubles and worries.

Community

We collaborate closely with the villagers of Jenaro-Herrera for the sourcing of food, supplies and labour, thus supporting the local economy. We also offer ceremonies for the villagers at a very low cost. Part of our profit goes towards the waste management project for the village.
